Council at Fort Detroit, June 14th, 1778
This event occurred between many indigenous nations and the British who were stationed at Fort Detroit on June the 14th, 1778. In attendane for the British was Lieutenant Governor Henry Hamilton, Lieutenant Governor Edward Abbott, and several officers of the Indian Department.  There was a count of 1,683 native people present at the council.  There were also a large number of chiefs that were representing the following tribes: Odawas, Chippewas, Hurons, Potawatomi, Delawares, Shawnee, Miamis, Mingoes, Mohawks, & the Tribes of Ouashtanon, Sagina, Delawares, and Senecas.
