Ginebig or a Snake

Ginebig, Snake

Here is a ginebig, or snake as its called in English.  This particular snake was found while on a leisurely morning walk.  He was sunning himself in the warmth of the early morning sun.  Regarding the Ojibwe translation for "snake," the book A Dictionary of the Ojibwe Language by Baraga has the term "Ginebig." Also the word "Ginebigojagaai" in reference to the skin of a snake.
